What is the difference between a chisel plow and a subsoiler
Best results achieved when soil is dry. Maximum depth 45 to 75 cm for chisel plow. Chisel plow standards may be rigidly mounted or spring cushioned or may have spring tips. This is a ih subsoiler along with a td crawler toolbar setup. It has provision for moleball attachment. Yeah they do make some subsoiler with spring auto reset. Our as you can see in the pictures has the auto resets.
It reminds me of our molboard plow we used to have in the way the springs look plus in the way they sound when they trip. Even with these on it it still brings up a fair amount of stone.
We've got the same IH chisel or Consertill as they called it Dad thinks it's a subsoiler behind the - raise the coulter gang as high as it will go and sink the shanks as deep as they'll go - let'r buck. I do it. On the back of my 80 HP 4WD I can pull that single shank with ease and could probably pull 3 shanks at 12" deep. I use a chisel plow almost all the time and use the subsoiler once a year or every other year to bust any hardpan.

Recently, Fred Cain could not produce any subsoilers to fill our orders, so we started making our own Everything Attachments Subsoilers which are as good or better.
